I'm trying to figure out which software I need to increase the size of my OS drive on my G51J-A1 (windows 7 64 bit). I need to make it larger due to itunes being dumb and not allowing to move my music files etc. to another partition. It requires all those files to be on my C: drive in order to actually use them.

Can anyone recommend a third party software that will allow me to do this? The disk manager within windows 7 won't let me move drives or extend the c: drive.

I have my iTunes library on a different drive. Check in the preferences, it is possible. I'll check my settings later and post an update.

Just tried to move it again. When I redirected it to the new location I was able to see and play the music files in itunes, but as soon as I actually moved the itunes folder from it's defualt location....it wouldn't see any files anymore. All I got was the default itunes screen when I opened itunes.

Move the folder back to the default location and it played fine. Dunno what gives. I either need to figure out a way to move the entire library and still have it work properly or I need to resize my c: drive to avoid running out of space.

Try EASEUS Partition Manager. It's free and it's quite comprehensive.

I tried the free edition of that but unfortunately it won't work to do what I need....64 bit OS. But it appears that the professional version will work...but costs $40 to buy it. If I can't find anything else then I guess I'll have to go that route.

I ended up buying the professional version of EASEUS Partition Manager (found it for $31 through a different website than EASEUS), and it worked like a champ. No more needing to worry about my c: drive anymore. Couldn't believe how quick and easy it was. :)
