    Hi,

Does anyone know a reason why no option above 1280x would be available in the Display Options on XP? I thought at first it was an issue with my default LCD - but usually you are allowed to set your resolution higher than the max and then the screen will only show part of it to make up for the resolution being too high for it to support. Do the default Z96J drivers do this? Does anyone have any ideas why it might be limited in this way otherwise?

    Thanks,
    Cat

Yes the defualt driver do support the native resolution for the Z96j, which is 1680x1050. I suggest updating some drivers, video card drivers.

Also get the model number at the bottum of the laptop, and possibly get the LCD model number and cross check that with what others here on the forums have and online.

    Hi,

Thanks for the quick reply. How would I find the model number though? Is there some program that would find it? Te LCD has been changed and I noticed some numbers on the back of it while in the service center but now that its under the lid I don't know how to find out - device manager just seems to label it as 'Default Monitor'.

    Thanks,
    Cat

If you're talking about an external LCD monitor the video driver automatically disables resolutions that the LCD cannot support. You can disable this feature depending on the drivers. I'm not sure why you would want this.

did you make sure that you're selecting monitor one when changing the settings and not monitor 2 (external)?
