I'm wonderng how one could find information on the response time of the LCDs used on Asus notebooks since most companies don't post info on them in their specs. I've heard that the Z71V has a response time as low as 16ms.

No idea, haven't had confirmation on it.
But a lot of people use it to play Doom3, HL2, and even BF2 fine. So it should be up to part. -
I hadn't really thought about it before bying my asus v6v, but it would be nice to know some specs. In addition to responsetime, i would like to know the contrast figures. Not many notebook manufacturers (if any at all) give such numbers, but since the screen is such an important part of a laptop for many buyers, it would be nice to know some specs, instead of names like ultra-vibrant-bright an so on. I'm satisfied with the screen but it could be improved.
Anybody who knows a site or thread??? -

I'll tell you this much.... Tiawan doesn't even tell the US office.... Tiawan might not even know for all I know... I just know it's not information that can be easily had. If you take your screen out and get the model number on the rear, you technically could look it up and look up the manufacturer and they *may* have those figures listed on replacement modules...

From what I've gathered in the past from their technical support is if you supply them your serial number, they will look it up for you.
Asus outsource the LCD to many manufacturers. So it varies on when your laptop was built and what LCD they have in stock to use at the time.
Just give them the serial number of your laptop. I had mine dont awhile back with their tech support via email. Can't remember what was it. hehehe
