I have found only two retailers offering a deal of a certain number of months interest free. They are Best Buy and NewEgg. NewEgg offer is over at the end of this month. For some reason Best Buy has a terribly small selection of Asus. Anyone know of others besides these two?

BestBuy only has access to their exclusive distribution Asus models. NewEgg's same as cash deals are often rolled over to the next month, and are listed several times a year at least.

None of the reputable resellers here has such an offer. You've got the only two.

Thank you for confirming that for me. It is a tough decision to make. I have narrowed down my brand choices to Asus, Dell, and Sony. From what I have seen it looks like Asus may give me the most for the money.
My other plan of action is to wait til Black Friday and Pre-Christmas sales at one of the retailers on this site and just use my credit card.

Try to pay with 'preferred account' from Newegg. Actually this is their credit card

im looking at doing the same thing. I have perferred account already with Newegg. You can get 1 year not payment not interest with the card. It dose not expire till Nov but they have had this deal all year long.

WOW. That was a shock to me. I will call them and see what they are up to. With me they said I now have their preferred card, but the no interest was only for 6 months, and I had to make a purchase before the end of this month. Sounds like we got two very different offers.
Thanks. I will check on that.

It all depends on how much of a balance they gave you on the card.

I have been watching this offer for a while now as I was looking to build a desktop but now am just going to stick with a laptop. Newegg just keep the promotion around for a while now. Last month it said it was going to expire at the end of Nov. Now I hope they do not change as I was looking to order 2 laptops from them at the same time but the N10 is not out yet.

I just spoke this evening with the preferred account people Plus the New Egg people. I was told, and asked 3 times to be sure I was hearing it right that the following is the way it is:
$1,000.00 and up no interest, no payments for 12 months
Although it says it expires 09/30/08, the person I talked absolutely swore that it means nothing -- I mean the deadling. She actually said you could get the same deal again starting October 1st and said that this has been going on for over a year. I should have asked for a supervisor but I had too much to do tonight.

So, does this sound like what the rest of you heard too??

BB did have 18 months, but they don't have the Asus or the Sony I'd like, and don't have the Dell I am looking at either.
