I have a Asus G71Gx-A1 that has developed an annoying problem lately. When I close the lid the machine goes to sleep. When I resume the screen is very dim and the machine has reverted to Asus standard power mode even though I just switched it to Asus performance mode (I think it is called). My wireless adapter is also not functioning when the system is resumed (it states the adapter is off) until I restart and then it works just fine.

I believe this is a Windows 7 issue and not a hardware issue. I would rather than not have to re-install Windows 7 .

I have looked all over the web and can not find anything. Can anyone help?
