This past weekend I went to the LA computer show and found an unmarked Asus Z71V. (pretty sure it was the Z71V with the blue lights and very distinct profile and color). filled the screen with green and white on MS paint.. couldn't figure out what sparkle was.. it looked like your everyday laptop screen to me. I guess if some one pointed it out to me, i may notice.. but upon initial inspection.. I saw nothing that was very obvious.

Like I said, time and time again.

The terms "sparkle" are loosly used and over hyped. Less than 20% of the people on the forum actually know exactly what it is and how it exactly look like. The rest just guess or assumed what they see is sparkle and cry about it.

i second that. i got a quick peek at a z71v and drawing a green square, practically nothing stood out. What it MIGHT have looked like is as if there are 2 layers of LCD glass (you know the noise that exists on every laptop screen upon close inspection?). That too i'm not too certain about, because the laptop was covered with a protective film.

My only complaint on this laptop after using it since April is....

    1) the nvidia fan does get a bit loud if you bring up the clock speed to what it was designed for. Asus underclock it due to heat. So maybe with a custom heatsink that will solve the problem. It does run nicely at 290/550.

    2) The keyboard does seems a bit flimsy

    3) The intel Pro 2215 does get a bit hot, might want to swap it for Atheros. But the problem is no one could get the function button to work with Atheros.

    4) The case is plastic. Though it is good plastic, I would like something similar to Z70V.
