Hi. I just noticed in the main RivaTuner window that under Target adapter in the list it says:
"NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT / Generic PnP Monitor"

Now is "Generic PnP Monitor" normal or do I need to install something? There's a second item in the drop down list that says "... / (Default monitor)". Is that perhaps the once I should use? Just as a note, there's nothing wrong with the GPU, just curious.

edit: I noticed "(Default monitor)" can only "customize" low-level refresh rates, graphics subsystem diagnostic report and hardware monitoring, while "Generic PnP Monitor" can do all 5. Now I realised that default monitor is actually for a new installed monitor. Still my question remains as to whether "Generic PnP Monitor" is correct.

Another beside question: At first after the driver installations, there was an icon in the notification area for the Realtek sound control panel, which opens in its own special windows. However in it I chose to uncheck the "show icon in taskbar" or some similar option. But now I can't find that option window anywhere. I tried looking in Control Panel, as well as all the Property/advanced windows in "Sound" in the Control Panel. Anyone know where I can find it?

    Thanks.

I'm afraid I can't answer your initial question, but to get the system tray icon back, just open RivaTuner and click on the settings-tab at the top of the window. There's an option called "Send to tray on close". Check that checkbox.

Just out of curiousity: What clocks does your Tuner's hardware monitor report on Core/Mem of your GPU?
