Odd problem just started. Twice, i unplugged and let it recharge and wouldnt go over 93% before saying "Plugged in, not charging 93%".

I unplugged and im letting it drain down to 50% or so and ill try again, see if it will get to 100%.

Its about a year old, not running off the battery very often, and only short periods of time if i do use the battery, but i get horible battery life anyways.

If it doesnt charge 100%, i can try calibrating. Any ideas?

93% plugged in and not charging. Should a calibrate fix this?

Probably the calibration will fix it.

You might check your battery wear in Mobile Meter (I presume you have WinXP)

For future reference, it's a good idea to do a full discharge/recharge cycle once every one or two months, to keep the battery in good shape.

bumping an old thread, but how do you calibrate your battery? I get stuck at 98% with plugged in but not charging. What should I do?

You basically use your laptop on battery, all the way till it reaches a forced "sleep mode" (which is like 5-6%?, differs depending on settings I guess), and then you let it recharge all the way back up. Calibration is healthy for the battery and should be done once in a while (not too often).

No, its a tool in the bios. Its drains, recharges (or vise versa, dont remember) and resets the battery discarding the lost parts

If you check around in the BIOS settings on bootup (F8 or F2, I forget), you should find an option somewhere in there for Battery Calibration. Start that after you have a fully charged battery and it will run the process for you; it's supposed to take several hours.

Takes about 2 hours for me. You dont have to fully charge the battery. The calibration charges and discharges it durring.

I dont get crap for battery life, so maybe thats why it takes so short of time.
