Justin, why did Asus decide not to have s-video out on the v6v? This is the only thing stopping me from buying it because I use that connection alot.

I don't know why they left it out. It may have something to do with getting the S-video port into such a thin form factor. Or, there could have been no room for it.

You can get a VGA to S-Video adapter for about $5 US if you want to connect the V6V to an S-Video input source.

    Hope that helps.

Cool, that what I need! I was hoping that you'd be able to do that[ :)] Also can you connect a keyboard via USB?

I believe the V6 has 4 USB ports so I would imagine you can connect a USB keyboard to it. [ :)]

First.. working backwards... I've had a handful of customers get RBG to S-video adapters and I never heard from them again.... I'm hoping for the best....

About s-video.. I don't know.. I think it was space.

One thing that concerns me is that the W3 has been shown in many variations, but as I and a few others have picked up... some models (and I think these were just earlier demos) had 4 USB ports and no S-video..... Then, the units that are out in europe have 3 usb ports and an S-video... the S-video port took the place of one of the usb ports....... Now.. I think thats the direction they are going with the W3.. as all of the W series seem to have or will have it as they are more multimedia based units.

At the same time, a normal notebook drive is used in the W3 which means it was a little thicker and maybe that was why the w3 seems to have it and the V6 didn't, becasue it has a super slim drive...... To counter my own argument... the W5 has a super slim drive but has managed to hit S-video into the unit.... I'm not so sure it's a matter of space height wise as it was a matter of space around the outside of the unit. There really isn't any room in the back of the V6 due to the battery and the screen hinges... However, the W5 has some room on the back and thats where they tucked away the S-video on that unit...... So I think overall, it may be a limit on space..... but also may be a design choice made for the eventual end-user of that particular notebook. The V6 and W3 are VERY similiar, however, they are meant for two different types of people, I beleive anyway.. Although s-video is a selling point I point out when people are looking towards the W3..... I don't think S-video is the deal breaker on the V6...... I think between both units it's a matter of screen size, ratio, and coating.... they are made for two different type of situations.

    Thanks,
    Justin
