Can I install a 2gb ram chip in this laptop and have it recognized? It has 512 on board with 1 slot available. I have a 1gb chip in their now but was wondering if it would accept a 2gb chip. Thanks.

Yes, it will work for a max of 2560MB (2.5GB) of RAM. You might need to update to the latest bios version for it to recognize the 2GB stick though.
