I am using RightMark CPU Clock Utility and it is displaying my core temperature as 58.2 degrees calcius. and the right palm is really warm....is this termperature too high? should i get a cooling pad? would it help the warm right palm problem?

A search could have found your answer but those temps are fine. A cooling pad would probably help the palm problem.

I'd actually suggest cleaning the notebook if you didn't do so in a while (see the Info Booth).

60 degrees may be too high or normal, depending on what kind of CPU is in the notebook and whatever temperatures the S96-s are usually running.

It looks a bit high, given that it's a 15" notebook (it is 15", right?)

If there's an owner's lounge, which I don't remember right now, you can read it, perhaps other people report temperatures and then you'll be able to compare.

But if you have it more than a few months and you haven't cleaned it yet, I still suggest you do it.

during low activity(power saver) it should be around 40-50. Now if u have cpu intensive programs running, then what u have is OK. During full load make sure it doesn't go over 70-73deg celcius. If u go over to the s96s owners lounge, there is an Arctic silver thermal paste guide posted for s96s. OH and make sure u r not blocking the vents and try to use it on flat surface( pillow or bed will make the temp go up even on low activity). Good luck!
