I received my laptop a few days ago, and im installing all my software atm. I just noticed that the CPU shows both cores at 993mgz a peice, as if it were splitting the 2.0 into 2.

Im new to dual core cpus, is this a bug?

Other than that, this laptop is real nice. Im working on a review that il post up later.

On the driver cd there is a hot fix. You must install it. It will also downclock itself when on battery. That is normal... Not a bug

Ahh ok, i think i get it. The CPUs multiplier switches from 6 to 12 depending on the CPU load right? So say i start a game, the multi will go up to 12?

    OK, so

I think I am having the same issue, but not sure

Does that mean that I was suppose to run some sort of CD when I got my notebook first. Because I did not. I automatically assumed that all the drivers will be there on the laptop and CD is a back up only

Did any of you S96J owners (who got their laptop from powernotebooks.com) ran some CD first?

    Thanks,
    Vasyl

Yes and no. That was the case last year with z71v i belive (right speed but faulty bios showed device manager wrong read). New bios fixed that. Device manager posed to show your full clock if you are attached to ac in your case. If on battery then you have multiplierr

If you asked them to isntall windows and the software for you, then its fine. I didnt buy xp with it, so i had to isntall everything myself.
