I purchased an ASUS S96J from Canadasys about a month ago and the internal speakers weren't working from the start. I figured out the fix for it.

It is this way: you have to push down on the headphone jack and if you do, then the sound works. Sometimes if i keep it pushed long enough, it stays that way and i can take my hand off it and the speakers will work for the next half an hour or so, untill the material from the soundcard bends back upwards and the sound doesn't work again.. and i hafta repeat pushing down on the headphone jack.

It looks like the headphone jack is touching the upper part of the audio circuit board or something and its stopping the interal speakers from working, however the headphones always work.

If you like you can bring it back to use, and we can have a look at it and take necessary actions to rectify the issue.

You still have several months of warranty, and if you can spare some time you can bring it in.
