    Hi all,

Well I got a replacement for my messed up old S96J and got a new S96Jm... yay! And thanks to Ken from gentech for helping me get the warranty process done since mwave completely refused.

Anyway... they don't send a keyboard with the new barebones. You have to take the one out of your old machine. I'm not sure what's up... maybe the S96Jm's had better keyboards, but my old one is pretty ratta tatta... rattling sort of, in here. Especially on the right side.

I noticed a couple little felt like pads in various places on this laptop. Do you think it would be possible to put a couple under the keyboard to give it a little cushioning / tighten it up, without trouble? Or is there a new nice keyboard that's been made that'll fit and work well that I could buy and put in?

You can add those pads, google for keyboard flex fixing guides.

You can try looking on the ASUS estore for the S96Jm keyboard. But my guess is it's identical to the S96J.

Yeah, probably something along the lines:
    "fix keyboard flex"
    or
    "fixing keyboard flex"
will give some results (don't use the quotes, then you'll get more results).
