    Hello,

Just got a new notebook for my wife.
    I have installed a Celeron M530 Stepingcode SLA2G

When I boot the S96S I get an error in POST.

    "Intel CPU uCode Loading error"
    "Press F2 to Continiue"

The the notebook hangs and there is no function.

I need a new BIOS with microcode for Intel Celeron M530.
Can anyone help me find one?

    Thanks

While someone else is free to contradict me, it sounds like you bought the a unsupported CPU for that system. Microcode is essentially information about instructions that is transfered to the processor when the computer during POST. Assuming you checked the website of Asus for a new BIOS for that computer, there is not much you can do without buying a new processor. IIRC the Asus S96S uses the 945G chipset and you can use the first generation 667MHZ Merom based Core 2 Duo processor. If you spent as much as I think you did for the barebones laptop you should get a T5600 to get more out of it.

The S96S uses the 956 chipset. It does not support older core duo or older core 2 duo. You need to get new core 2 duo for it to work. You will need to get a new CPU for the S96S.
