    my battery last me 2 hours...sometimes 1.5 hours, no gaming...just on the internet....I'm using Power4Gear battery saving mode...is any else getting around the same time?

    does anyone know how to get a little bit more battery out of it? any setting?

    and also, if I were to get a 9 cell battery. how much longer do you think it'll last before I need a charge?

    thanks

    I'm not sure how much longer the 9 cell battery lasts, but try turning off your wireless card and turning the brightness as low as you can stand to get some extra juice out of your battery.

    it would be 9/6 of the 6 cells lasting time, logically. So 1:30 would be 2:00

    hmm have u tried rmclock? u can enable c5and c6 sleep states and u can also bybass c3state to c4hard deep sleep state.
    . It helps a little. the most i have seen my laptop (wireless off, min brightness) is 2:15 on 100full charge. but when using it, it is usually around 1:50 TO 1:40

    Well, Asus says to expect 2.5 hours, so immediately take off the standard 30% markup for battery life times, and you have essentially 1:45. Its not all that surprising.

    by the way, I was wondering, if I have my battery in charging and AC plugged. after my battery is fully charge, can I just pull out the battery when my AC is still plugged? is that bad for the computer and battery? or is there a hot swap function

    @csky12:

    Most batteries are hot-swappable by default. You're perfectly fine pulling the battery out once it's charged, and it's much better for the life of the battery. My ancient Inspiron 5100 NEVER has its battery in it unless it's actually running off the battery or recharging the battery, and I still get 2-1/2 - 3 hours out of it after 4 years.

    ye asus needs to work on that. Keep in mind that s96s has a dedicated video card and not integrated!. Performance and build is excellent but not so good on the battery life.
