did u guys download the Azurwarewave camera driver from intel website for the notebook? It comes with a program called AMcap.exe and u use that to take pics ,video etc
i have Azurewave, GL860 and it works perfectly with the drivers from intel website -
I have AMcap.. it came preinstalled on my laptop, but I still cant get the webcam to work in messenger programs.. The webcam itself works, when I run AMcamp but that isnt video chatting... what am I missing?
-
From what I know, there are two models to the webcam. There's the D-Max and there's the Azurewave. If you have the D-Max model, the AmCap will work but won't capture any pictures or videos. If you are looking for the drivers, try intels site for the Azurewave. If you looking for the D-Max, there's a post on this site that has the drivers. I have the D-Max and I can't get AmCap to capture video or pictures. My friend has the Azurewave and it works fine on his but the picture quality looks better on the D-Max.

my webcam works fine, and captures video when I use AMCap but it captures the video in AMCap, its not like a live feed into video chatting... Do I need to run AMCap while I video chat??

first of all the camera does not even work unless you install drivers manually
1. browse the driver cd for the camera folder
2. install the driver from the cd rather then from the autorun menu.
i dont recall which driver from the cd is the right one becuase it has 2 of them. install them both. one will work. Your issues with messenger should be fixed after that -
So I went into the camera driver folder, I tried to install the one for azureware I got an error: can't find language.ini
I tried to install the driver from D-max I get an error installation failed -

I installed the D-Max drivers from the CD. There is also a Azurewave drivers on the cd but I recommend you download the one from Intel's site. I used my camera with MSN, Yahoo, and a few others. It works just I can't take pictures or videos with it.

Do I need to run AMCap while I run Aol Instant Messenger??
I get errors when I try and install drivers from the cd. -
Go to the hardware properties. It will tell you what's wrong with it and tell us before anyone can help. It might not be a driver issue. There's a thread here with drivers if you want to do a search on it.

I don't have an S96S but I'm considering getting one. I would want the camera to work with Skype. Is anyone using it with Skype?

hmm, did u go to settings, u know like where u wanna save the pictures(which folder). Mine is setup so that whenever i take a picture or a video, it automatically saves on the desktop. When i take a picture, the picture pops up in windows picture manager
-
I clicked on file and it doesn't show up any tab
-
hmm, can u try downloading this version of amcap from here and install?
http://noeld.com/programs.asp?cat=video#AMCap -
so the cam gets turned on when the program is executed? i.e is there a green light on the webcam? download the version above and go to capture>setup and select the folder to save to videos and pictures

I just built an S96S for a customer, and could not get the camera to work properly with the driver that was on the CD. I downloaded the latest driver from Intel and that solved the problem (uninstalled the first driver, deleted the device, then ran setup from the Intel download).
Here's a shortcut to the Intel download:

All the best~!
