    Hi,
    1) I am wondering what are your bootup times for your s96j?

    2) also, is there a lot of bloatware installed?

    Thanks!

Bloatware depends upon which store you get your computer from.

    1. About 1 min for me.

    2. No bloatware, it was custom built at GentechPC.com :)

All I had done was have the OS loaded on it, even I had the option of getting it without the OS loaded.

I am not aware of ANY Asus dealer that adds bloatware to their builds...you can be pretty confident of that. However once you have decided which dealer you are going to buy from, make sure you confirm that with them.

There is a program you can download to speed up boot up and shutdown, among other things. The link is available in the 'how to optimize your computer' thread in the notebooks for dummies section.
