I just got my S96j barebone with wireless card from mwave.com. I got CPU, harddrive, memory, and DVD Super Multi from somewhere else. I was regretting that i didnt get the DVD drive from mwave when i read the posts about s96j not having the DVD drive rail included.

But when i open the box last night, it came with the rails and all the proper screws! :D I guess the newer shipments are starting to include them? I ordered it on Aug 8th from Mwave, they just got the shipment the week before. Now i'm installing WinXP.. hopefully Asus fix the graniness issue as well ^_^

... yes, and it should come with a drive faceplate as well..... but every drive out there still won't accept the facebook, just keep that in mind.

Its not an ASUS problem, its the X1600 GPU. So ATi(now AMD...) will hopefully fix it.

Actually.. it's not the gpu's problem....... maybe the drivers, but I doubt that because the x1600 in all of the other systems don't have that problem..... W2j / W3j / or even the Z96j which is the same system with a higher res screen..... it could be a driver issue for that resolution screen though......which is still sort of Asus' problem to solve.

Incorrect Justin. The w3j has the same exact issue so does the z96j. didnt check the w2 but i think its in the same boat. Every x1600 powered laptop would have the same issue. Not a big deal but the picky bunch get hung up on it like a dead pixel.
