I'm not sure what it is, but when playing the audio from a DVD, there's a constant, small popping sound in the background. This problem exists in the onboard speakers and with a headphone.
In addition, the video seems to pause, go, pause, go, etc. It's very slight, like half a second go, half a second pause...but it's noticeable. I'm thinking that the DVD isn't reading right, and so the sound is suffering as well as with the video.
The sound from games doesn't seem to have this problem...so..:-\ not sure. Can anyone help me?

I tried out some more stuff...and now I'm pretty sure it's the DVD drive. Video playback is not smooth...nor is sound playback on DVDs. But loading stuff that's on the hard drive doesn't have that problem.
Any ideas how to fix it? -
Seems it's not JUST the hard drive...when I preview songs on iTunes the sound also is messed up. There's a lot of static and it stutters....:-\
