Hi. My sister just bought W7J. But somehow I had to use the CD to restore the whole system. But 1 problem, I do not see any SD/MMC drive listed in Windows Explorer. Only hd's partitions & DVDRW drive are listed as C: D: & E:. Is SD/MMC drive supposed to be shown as a drive in Explorer in Asus notebook ? In my other notebooks, they are always listed whether or not any SD/MMC is inserted. I do not have any SD/MMC right now, so I don't have any way to test.

But in Device Manager, I notice there is "Ricoh xd-Picture Card Host Controller" under IDE/ATAPI controller. Isn't this the controller for SD/MMC drive ?

Is the SD/MMD drive missing ? or is it normal?
Can someone help me before I continue installing other softwares ?
    Thanks

Have you got any memory cards to test them ?
    I think it's normal.

I believe it is normal also. My w3j does not list the media card reader either.

    Hi!
I have a W7J and SD/MMC drive only appears in the explorer when I insert a card.
A way tho check if it is installed is in the device manager. It has to be listed there.

Mines isn't listed unless there is a physical card inside.
