My SD drive was working all day yesterday and part of this morning...but then about 2 hours ago it stopped working. I've tried uninstalling, reinstalling, restarting the computer dozens of times to no avail. I'm pretty sure it's not the microSD and adapter that's not working because Windows detects it to reinstall the drive. I get code 10's (this device cannot start) and code 9's (something about the remote something...haha).

(This part is all under Device Manager, btw). Initially, it's the "SDA Standard Compliant SD Host Controller" under Secure Digital host controllers that doesn't work properly. I disable it, and re-enable it and then it says it is working properly. But now a "Secure Digital Storage Device" under Disk Drives pops up and says it is not working.

It was working just a couple of hours ago, and I didn't change any settings >_>!

EDIT: If it helps at all, my microSD card still works on my phone. I'm using a SanDisk 512 on a Nokia 6133.

Try removing all usb bus drivers from device manager. Reboot and see what happens.

Tried unstalling all the USB drivers as you suggested, still doesn't help. I don't know why it would, the SD reader isn't USB, it's integrated into the system already... so isn't that some sort of IDE port? I tried uninstalling the Ricoh memory stick host controller too, doesn't help.

Blegh, gonna give powernotebooks a call tomorrow (cause I bought it from them).

Thanks for the effort the Eddie.

Hm...perhaps I don't need to call powernotebooks. I just tried it on one of my roommate's laptop and it wasn't being read either. Seeing as how he just bought his laptop this morning...I don't think it's the laptop that's busted. I'm starting to think it's my adapter that's not working cause initially, the microSD was really hard to pull out of. According to a lot of reviews on NewEgg, that's the way it's supposed to be. But now it's REALLY easy to pull out the microSD card.

Would you guys suggest I contact SanDisk or NewEgg?
