I just saw this... and I went "oh ****!".... What does this mean exactly though? How much less powerful is the 9xxx series GS than a normal GT?
-
Nooo, my G1S is outdated
Looks like my dream? ^^, thanks for the newsssssss flash -
Hum....same base...that smell the burned plastic
.
P.S:i saw an other site who's been talking about the same 8600 and a peryn for the G1Sn.
Get a closer look to the description,on second picture , we can see NVIDIA GeForce 8600mGT -
Hmm so its at least a new CPU, but with the same base, they haven't solved the main problem with the G1s it seems, and if the put a 9500m GS, it might get worse...
-
the 9500m GS might be faster than the 8600GT and it is on a shrink die (55nm FAB) and thus might suck less juice
-
Thus, the g1sn has it's cake and eats it too?
-
We are already seeing G1s with the 8700M GT in them, I'd wait for the 9600M GT....if the 9500m GS us already the equivalent of the 8600M GT, think of the 9600M GT!
Or is the design so out dated that we're gonna look at the G1S going down hill: Go 7700...8600M....9500M! From a semi high end card to a high low end card, ouch! -
!!! is 9600m gs that bad i thought it would perform like 8800m gt lolz

I would asume that the 9xxx is just a die shrink and will be equal to the same 100 series number of the 8000's.
Just like the 8600gt is just about the same as a 7600gt but with DX10, I think the next card to be on par with the current 8600gt would be a 9600 card. It will use less power and produce less heat so probably have higher overclocking ability but otherwise run nearly the same stock. Thats my guess. -
Well it still says "G84". The .inf files in the drivers also list the 9500 to be G84 Rev 4xx (don't remember) so it might not even be a die shrink.
The Go 7600GT was also more powerfull than the Go 7700 Ranger
