Just got my second U36JC after the first got replaced. This one has a problem that I didn't experience with the first one: when you turn the screen back on after it's been automatically turned off, the screen is usually glitched.

The artifacts disappear, after something has been dragged on them. Nothing really drastic or something that would turn the PC unusable, but it's nevertheless annoying.

A completely different subject, but sometimes when connected to internet through wireless connection, the internet disappears, and you have to reconnected the WLAN to get it back. Never had this with my old crappy PC.

    Thanks!

    Crazy

Try updating the VGA drivers from asus support page for your laptop.

    ^ didn't work?

Contact Asus tech support, you may have to send it in again :(

OK so i'm not the only one that has the screen glitched in the exact same fashion.

Has there been any resolution to this issue? I'm over here in Iraq and shipping my computer back and forth for repair isn't what i want to do.
if this could be fixed by a driver fix that would be nice.

I know i have upgraded to the latest driver and have the Nvidia overclock tol but it seems to be random. GPU overclocked or not, i still get the screen glitches...

Keep in mind this isn't often, maybe 2 times a week. but still annoying..

I have the exact same problem on my N61, I'm so glad I'm not the only one. I think I am updated to all the latest drivers, but I guess I'll give that a try. Keep us updated if you find a solution.

It might be a hardware problem. My sister's HP laptop did something similar. Whenever she moves her LCD, the artifacts appear and it moves. It might be some wiring on your LCD getting caught at the hinge.

Hmmm I think it has to be software, because they are not permanent. They go away as I move a window over them, or I can click and drag the cursor to erase them. They aren't a huge problem for that reason, just annoying and worrisome.

    Thanks,
    Jarrod

I too have this problem, I was wondering if anyone has a solution yet. I tried to update the video drivers, but it didn't work.

Yeah, now I think of it, it is more like a software issue. Which driver do you have? I am using the latest one from NVidia (version 280.26).

I currently have version 266.58 for the NVidia and version 8.15.10.2302 for the intel HD chip. I will check for updates now though.

As far as i know i have the latest drivers, though i haven't checked in the last 2 weeks.

I can also confirm that this still happens with a clean install, as i added a SSD to my U36 (a must IMO) .

If someone ever finds the issue to this, please be sure to post it up...
    thanks

I contacted Tech Support and they told me to update the Bios to version 206. But my version is already 206. Great
