    Hi, I'm having a problem. My laptop screen is showing nothing on. It's just pitch black. When I turn the laptop on, there's sound, so I know that its not a software related problem. My laptop is the Asus G1s.

    Try connecting an external display. If it works, then your screen backlight is dead. If not, then your graphics chipset is likely at fault.

    Correction: if the external display works, it's 99% a faulty inverter board.

    uhm, no. It happens even when i hibernate, or shut down... Sometimes the screen comes up. But most of the time it doesn't. I already sent it to the service centre here in Melbourne and they said I have to wait for 2 weeks. I dont think I can wait that long cause I have assignments due.
