Hi, I would like to know how the a8jm and sony fj series screens compare. Which one is better? In your opinion, by how much from a scale of 1 to 10 is the one that is better than the other? thanks

you really expect many ppl to own both to be able to compare?
i can comment on just the asus however
the screen on the asus is not that good
definitely the worst part of the laptop.
viewing angles suck, isn't that bright etc..

Yeah, viewing angles are a problem with most 14" notebooks though, not just the A8Jm... as for brightness.. I think mine's quite nice and bright ... looks beautiful from my point of view.. not sure about the Sony... maybe some ppl in the Sony forum can help out with that?

actually asus laptops are just as bright as sonys. the w3j and a8 are quit bright. as for viewing angles thats an issue on all 14.1 in widescreens.

when comparing lcds you have ti compare the same size screen. because different sizes have different viewing angles.

I always prefer Sony and Qosmio screens over any other. They are easily the best and nothing else comapres.

In terms of screen quality, you'll probably be more happy with the Sony. The LCDs on Sony notebooks are usually very rich in colour/brightness... its only competition being the LCDs on Fujitsu notebooks.
When going with Asus, you'll be getting overall quality... you won't be getting the best of everything, but you'll probably have the best of everything overall, know what I mean? (I.e your screen may not be the best, but the build quality will make up for it)
    I'd give Sony screens a 9, while Asus screens get a 7.5-8 on a scale of 1-10.
