The scroll thing should work by default on all applications. I doubt the touch pad technology on the V6 is much differnt thatn the Z71v.

It is working fine for me in all applications I am using now. I didn't even install the touchpad driver. The one that came default with windows is working for me.

OK, this is kind of weird. I can't scroll in Firefox using the touchpad scroll zone -- I get the little scroll icon under my cursor, but it doesn't move -- but I can scroll on the regular part of the touchpad. Tap and drag up or down, just like you would on the scroll zone, but not in the scroll zone. Does this just work on my W3V, or does it work for everybody?

This is not a problem with your touchpad, but with some bizarre Synaptics driver incompatibility with Firefox. See this thread:

    http://www.notebookreview.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=8368&SearchTerms=synaptics,firefox

I tried downloading the old driver v7.5.7, but it didn't work for me -- just disabled the scroll feature *everywhere*. [ :(!]

Since this is a very well known (and well complained about) problem, let's hope synaptics does something about it soon!

Just update to new Synaptics driver at www.synaptics.com This was a very old problem that happened only with the old drivers.
