Why would there be a performance increase in games?

If the drive has faster read speed than the drive it replaces then you'll see better performance when anything is read from the disk...like when games load.

It will not give you a performance boost while playing games.
It will load levels faster but that's about it.

Meh. It's a 4gb cache of small files.

You might see an improvement when initially launching the game, getting to the title screen. I'd lay even money that actually loading levels and zones is 5% better at best.

Get the XT for fast boots and zipping around the OS and installed programs; not for gaming.

if you repeatedly play a game like BC2 or TF2 it will speed up the load times theoretically.

Or you could get an SSD and use that.
