    Hi,
I've found some stuff that talks about sept 2 intel will do some price cuts, release some new mobile procs (including the T7800, 2.6ghz). Any ideas if this will affect the current Asus line of notebooks? I was going to pull the trigger on an F3SV, but if this could imact the prices soon (ie 2-3 weeks), I'm willing to wait.

it probably won't affect the current ASUS line of notebooks, it might affect the prices though. and in all honesty...you can't tell the differences between 2.6 and 2.8 GHz unless you're into synthetic benchmarks.

I wouldn't be surprised, most notebook companies including ASUS have a small refresh period of 3-5 months where the notebook is either updated to a better processor and larger HD(and sometimes other things).

maybe reseller can upgrade the cpu for the cost? tho that way i think you have to pay the cost of t7800 added total price and not get your usual t7500 or 7300. like what happened to me.

Tx for the info everyone. I'm more interested in seeing if there will be a drop in the current line rather then getting a faster proc. I'm new to Asus notebooks, so I'm not familier with how they handle cpu refreshes.

I'm looking at the F3Sv-A1 which has the T7300@WXGA+. My hope is that a refresh with the T7500 and WXGA+ is released, and that it's soon. My current laptop is a almost 5 year old compaq presario (it's a beast) that I'd like to replace very soon. If the refresh is more than a month I'll probably just end up getting the current version, which I expect will be the case.

    Tx again!
