I'm looking for a thin and stylish 14.1-15 gaming notebook. I like the VX design and also the V1s and V2. Is there any plans on a refresh of these laptops with a good video card in them for gaming? My budget is about $2500. I know I won't get a VX with that but is there a laptop with a similiar chassis? Are there any news on upcoming Asus products? I've been wanting to wait for SSD prices to go down but at this rate, I might be waiting until the cows come home.

I don't think there's any plans at the moment for a refresh on the V series. Asus is focusing on the mainstream consumer market, so you probably won't see anything along the lines of a business laptop. The U series, however still offers a sturdy magnesium-alloy chassis, but they don't come in a 14" or 15" form.

In some countries, a refresh of the V1 has been released (not very recently though). I'm not sure how good the GPU is.

But in general, yes, ASUS is focusing on "bang for the buck" mainstream machines.
Serious about purchasing an Asus, any thin gaming notebook coming soon?
