I've been searching online for a service manual for the F5-series. I can't find anything, not even for most other Asus notebook models. Anybody know a good source? Is it possible to get a service manual directly from Asus instead of a third party? I thought manufacturers had to make service literature available to the public, not just for their authorized service people. Technical literature usually comes with desktop motherboards and other hardware but for notebooks it seems much harder to find.
Thanks

Asus doesn't usually supply the disassemble guides for their notebooks now to consumers unless it's a model that has been EOL and out of warranty. They are reserved for authorized technicians and in-house use only. I guess their reason behind this is to avoid end-users potentially breaking their notebooks and risk having them sent back to Asus for repairs. Acer and probably other companies have a similar policy.
