Can someone help me and suggest what I should do? My screen hinge just shattered (both sides), see attached picture below:

But my warranty has expired. I don't think I'm the kind that can b*tch and moan until the service guys agree to do the repair for free? Anyway, the Customer Support here in Singapore is one of the worst in the world. They are really that notoriously bad here in Singapore. They are rude and have no IT knowledge at all.

You can try to have them fix it anyway, since this is a well-known problem with the A8 model. But that can't be guaranteed to work.
If that doesn't work, have a look at the ASUS eStore and see if you can't find the parts needed to fix the computer yourself. They are just body parts, no electronics, so it shouldn't be too expensive. (a hinge cover is a few dollars, for instance)
