I recently found a stuck pixel that won't go away (tried just about everything). So I've contacted both Newegg and Asus, and this is what each will do depending where I send it:
Newegg will send me another (Refurbished) laptop when they receive mine.
Asus will put a new screen on mine and send it back.
Which option would be quicker? I'd kinda like to keep my own laptop, because I never like getting refurb, but that's just me. What would you guys do? And again, what's quicker?

I'd go with Asus since the replacement with Newegg would also come with a 'used' screen. Also, keep in mind that after 6 months, screen quality starts to decrease drastically (as per a thread about laptop screens I was reading), so a new screen would be the best option.
The quicker route would probably be Newegg, since Asus seems to be backed up atm and it takes them 4 days to assign a tech. -
Well, not that's it's a huge deal or anything, but I would have to reinstall a clean copy of Windows 7 and reflash my BIOS and vBIOS if they sent me another refurbished G73. I'm still not sure what will take longer, ASUS or Newegg. Newegg says that they will need 2-5 business days just to ship the new laptop AFTER they receive mine.
If Asus takes 4 days to assign a tech, as long as they get it done shortly after and ship it off, it could take the same amount of time.
Are you suggesting "stuck pixels" will likely start appearing after 6 months? -
Colours on all laptop screens start to wash out/decrease over-time. I was reading that 8hrs/day for 6 months on a laptop will lead to a decrease in quality (colours/brightness), but that's with all laptops and not this unit specifically, hence why getting the screen replaced would be ideal

Oh, I did not know that. I wonder if the LCD screen I'm currently staring at would look much different compared to its "NEW" counterpart.
Thanks for the feedback, I'm going to ship it off to ASUS on monday. Cheers!
Should I RMA back to Newegg? Or Asus?
