I'm just wondering, since I don't really know when asus will update the 15 inch line and am wondering whether I should buy one now or wait for the next version(if it's coming soon).

Assuming the 15" series is refreshed in July, what is the likelihood that it will remain as cheap as $1.1k for the same performance...

Uh huh, and what would the resale value of a laptop like this be in maybe 1-2 years assuming its kept in good condition?

If you can hold out to july you should. Even if the new 15 inch series which asus will launch will be not affordable to you, it will make the current 15 inch gaming models drop in price. So either you get better hardware for the same price, or you will get the same hardware which is now available for a smaller price. Win-Win if u'd ask me.
