I want something to use as a compliment to my Sager. Are there any good note-taking applications for the EEE PC? Would the EEE be a better alternative to some kind of other note-taking device? Thanks.

ClearSkies Well no, I'm still here..
The keyboard is small with the 7" screen, so touch typing at speed to keep up with lectures could be an issue depending on your hand size. I don't know what is available for notetaking in Linux - there are a few in XP/Vista, but that obviously requires OS install plus the SSD space hit to put both in. I don't know whether the Wacom tablet might be a viable alternative with the Eee.

The size of it is nice for carying around a lot, but like clearskies mentioned, the combination of a small cramped keyboard and small low res screen might make it difficult to keep up in class with the notes.
If I were you, I'd look into a used 12" laptop for around the same price range. Since this is just for notes and you already have a main computer, it doesnt need to be high end. Either a Dell Latitude or a Thinkpad would work perfectly for what you need and not cost that much more. -
I was in your position. I got a Use powerbook 12". I quite like it. Keyboard is awesome.
However, the best notetaking app, imo, is onenote, and you can't use that on os x. So an old thinkpad or dell laptop would be nice, just make sure the keyboard is good. If you can, try it out. -

I'll second the OneNote reccomendation. Further. I think that having a computer that is better for typing and also more capalbe of things like one note is more worthwhile. Buy a 3 year old or so 12" for cheap, and use that. If you do it right, you will spend nearly the same as an Eee I think.

The Eeepc comes with openoffice which can be used for note taking. However, like any ultraportable laptops, you'll need a few days to get used to the keyboard.
Should I get an EEE PC for note taking?
