I really would like to see these two laptops side by side and stacked up to get a better idea of the size differences. I like the fact that the z70va has a bigger screen and runs cooler, but i also need to be able to take my comp to the occasional class. If a reseller could possibly post a pic, it would be of enormous utility to me and I'm sure would come in handy for others as well.

the Z70 series will be signifcantly taller due to the speakers being placed on the lid/screen.

no pic of the w3v and z70 side by side..

but here's a w1n and an M6 (same chassis as Z70).. side by side

I imagine the w3v's height would be even lower than that of the w1n.

You also have to keep in mind that the W1 and Z70 have different hinge types... the W1 has an Apple-type hinge where the screen sits sort of BEHIND the keyboard (the V6V is also like this) whereas the Z70 has the screen sitting on top of the keyboard... so that adds to height.

The W1 / W2 / V6 - due to their hinge type, the bottom of the screen is basically flush with the height of the palm rest....... lower than any other notebook you could look at........... the M6(Z70 serles) that's the opposite...... as said above due to it's multiple ratio screen design, on the widescreens models you have speakers below the screen. This puts the bottom of the screen off the palmrest by at least an inch and a half...... so you physically need more room to open up that notebook height wise than any of the others.
