I see all these white squares just flickering all over the screen, I had to hold the power button to shut it off and power it back on. WTF was that all about/. Is this normal?
-
This is related to a videocard problem.
Might've been some kind of refresh rate bug or something like that in your drivers.
Might be hardware related as well. -
oh great. WHat a ****in joke this experience has been. $2000 down the tubes. Im literally crying right now.
-
If it happened once, I won't worry about it. If it happens a lot, then it might be a video driver issue. If it turns out to be a hardware issue, then if you're under warranty, then you can get it replaced. Seriously though bro, it isn't the end of the world.
-
It happened once where it started flickering the screen when watching tv on it. Then just tonight when i booted up.
Im so depressed. Why cant i enjoy my ASUS? -
Have you tried reinstalling the video drivers?
-
-
-
Did you use uninstall the previous drivers, and run drivercleaner in safe mode before installing these?
-
Should i just mybe wait to see if it does it again? If it do, ill go ahead and uninstall and do like you said. What is driver cleaner?
I hope its not h/w issue. -
http://www.drivercleaner.net/ You can dl the Pro version. Be sure to read the readme file carefully.
-
-
Quit yer crying and send it in to your reseller for repairs if there's a problem with hardware.
just try reinstalling the drivers from scratch and don't mess with any tweaking.
Cheers,
Mike -
no way im sending away for repairs, ill have no computer.
Btw some good news, just got my home key back on safely. woohoo. -
No offense bro, you can either be without ur pc for a small amt of time while it's being repaired, or you can keep it and continue to whine about things going wrong with it. Your choice!
-
What he said.
-
The biggest worry right now is the mark on the LCD, i was crying earlier...
-
You really need to chill out about your laptop. your being so dramatic all the time. Havent you ever owned electronics before. just relax kid. Keyboards flex so what. pcs have glitches. You spent 2 grand fine but your laptop doesnt have issues to most dont. and the reason you cant enjoy your asus is your OCD maybe. Not trying to be rude i feel for you just dont have to get so worked up.
-
-
Im very protective about my stuff very. I like to keep everything new and great. from my car which has to many scratches i couldnt protect me baby. to my lcd panels to pda whatever. I even snap sometimes at people when they handle my stuff in a way i dont like like grabbing my laptop the wrong way that they almost drop it. Even how people enter my car just arent careful with their feet and scratch something. Bugs the hell out of me but i get over it. I find after about a week i get over whatever scratch or defect something has. Its not good to dwell on that stuff. Its just stuff. remember most people wouldnt even notice the issues your having just enjoy the machine. lifes to short to be worried about this stuff. Just a machine.
-
woudl a 1.5cm hairline scratch bother you/ would you just leave it? the good thing is its on the bottom, but still........... -
It would bother me. But if its not effecting the display when the pc is on. then i would just leave it no point in selling you if you care for the money you will lose. now if it was so deep it effected the colors and stuff when using windows it would really bug me, But if its just a superficial scratch on the glossy coat then no biggie.
-
i really wish i could cover it somehow, it breaks my heart, i feel like crying again. -
In one month you will look past it....think of it as your a true road warrior
-
...so reading along and then there's this jargon, OCD...so I google OCD: http://www.google.com/search?lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=OCD
...hmmm...what does your "advisor" tell you about this defect...on your machine)?
At least it still boots up...think you might give your professional person a call and plan a strategy to either get it fixed while it's still new or go with the 1.5 cm problem you ID'd. Either way, it seems that you'll solve the issue and have a machine that I certainly appreciate. -
Hi, are you Master Q on nbf? -

You have problems. Its prolly not your notebook. As soon as you realize that you will start to enjoy it. Isht happens. I ve never owned a piece of equipment that didnt break or have some weird soft issue. I blame my self before i blame the hardware only becuase most of my problems were infact user error whther intentional or unintentional they were user error for the most part. Unfortunately so is most of our rma. Some people admit to it some do not some dont even understand what user error means. -
^ what he said.
Sounds like operator error, just like the scratch.
I'd almost be embarrassed for creating two posts about problems that you caused for yourself and lamenting Asus for not being able to enjoy their products.
EDIT: "Softened" -

Eh well he did start with a keyboard that didnt appeal to him. Its not all his fault but ye like you said blame your self fro breaking your notebook in more then one place. You should have just sent it for pro repair -
Next thing you know he's going to be posting that Asus was a waste of $2,000 (oh right...he already did) and that they're junk b/c his keyboard was messed up and his screen scratched "easily" and it's buggy.
To the OP - if you're just hitting a streak of bad luck, I do feel for you. I just know how these things can be spun, rightly or wrongly. -
suck it up! alteast it still works!
-
-
If it does it before the OS initiation, it's not software related. Could be a loose connection between the cable connecting the screen to the notebook.

edit............ -
Edit, sorry, I thought you were Master Q!
So I go on to turn on my laptop, and ...
