Greetings Guys/Gals... I'll try to keep it short because I'm just dying in front of a computer today.....
First and foremost..... Asus' rebates run out on the 6th..... $100 off W5f / $200 off the W2j and V6j...... sometimes people forget and they'll be ordering on the 7th and wanting the rebate.... it always happens.
I've been out of town for most of the last 2-3 weeks, so I haven't really known what's been going on here. The Z35fs are in...... apparently not on the website, but a healthy stock of them are in the warehouse. Also, this was big news for me, but may not be for anyone else... Main batteries for the W3j came in.... so did the W7j 9 cells, along with V6j main batteries..... They've been in for a couple weeks now and again, apparently no one put them up on the site, but sales did get some of them out to backorder customers.
I also want to ask some of the newbie's and senior members what they'd like to see in a contest... I would like to see this forum regain it's former glory and if we need to jump start that with some crazy contest to get people excited, then so be it.....

Sure, a contest sound dandy.

Yeap, perhaps we should have, lets say 4 contests per year, not only will there be more participants(longer period of time), it may also result in members hanging around longer

I'm here to stay! hehe..
Anyways Justin, could you provide us with some details on how to get the W7j keyboard out and get access to the network card? Thanks! -

Ypou actually have to remove the bottom panel to get to the network card. Removing the kb does not expose the card. WHy do you want to do this anyways? Intel only has one card 3945 and that is whats used.

I want to change it to an atheros based AR5006 mini-pcie card that is being sold on the BST forum. Remove the entire back panel?

MINI-pci not compatible with dual core notebooks. Its an express slot in all dual core models.

G2P, note I said mini-pciE...

How about most destructive video of an old notebook gets 30% off anything at Proportable? -

I vote we do something constructive if there is a contest. I know it wasn't really meant to be, but the MVP gave people a little extra incentive to be just that much more helpful. This forum really has died, and I think doing something to bring back the sense of community would be good, a constructive contest might help.

HAHA. I'm glad I didn't return the POS Sony that my school let me borrow. -
How much is the 9cell W7J battery going to cost and how many hours can we expect to get out of it?
-
Other than posting photos of the wife I think a good idea for a contest could be "What's Your #1 Tip For A Laptop User?" or something like that. Your prize could be something nice which you get to decide and of course the winner and I get one since I came up with the idea :>)
So I return from socal and enter into a heatwave... Just an FYI on rebates, new stuff
