2 days ago in the middle of class in kind of died on me. In the end I unplug/replug the CPU and it restarted, told me OC failed. No big deal, happened quite a few times....
However, this morning, the screen just wouldn't turn on. It booted perfectly, was under windows but no **** screen. I checked the video card and the screen connectors...all fine. My warranty is expiring next monday so it was kind of ON TIME. I called today and the tech KNEW WHAT THAT MODEL WAS. He even told me to remove HDD/CPU/RAM before.
Since the manufacturing date is well passed over a year, I have to fax the invoice before I get the RMA number. Will probably ship it tomorrow. Hope to get it back next week... I'll also write a note talking about overheating/OC mode crash. I think I'll even ask those C90P copper heatsink![]()

If I have to got the route of RMA I'm really going to try not to let them make me send the entire system in for a bad GPU.
Seem unnecessary for an obvious issue in my case, (never had OC or Mem issues). -
MY GPU WENT OUT ABOUT 2 WEEKS AGO AT THE END OF AUGUST! MY WARRANY EXPIRED IN THE END OF JULY!
So far no luck getting help.....need to try one more thing though....I already got stonewalled once from Asus and nvidia is still in denial of the whole defective chips thing so..... -
Asus is selling them $100 on estore. I still haven't gotten any news from them.. I need it fast. My dad's laptop does the job for now but...I really want mine. I may even get owned by warranty and have to buy a new card...I don't even know if it's that.
-
Yep, my C90S GPU died too before this Nvidia news came loose. It just quit one day and never turned on, I had it replaced with a new one with a weird temperature fix that would throttle down automatically beyond 83-85 degrees core temp via PowerMizer. Never figured out why until the news came about all the defective chips.
-
Mine didn't throttle before 102C. Isn't it impossible to keep it under 85 on a c90s anyway?

Unfortunately the E Store models are only 256MB DDR models not even the 512MB model. Those are around on the web at various stores for about 120-140US.
But and a big but here, would be, do we know what revisions these cards are? Or are they just new old stock cards that will prove to be defective as well?
At this point I'd really love to see a decent ATi based case be available, who knows maybe the "P" model will have one that's compatible...oh to dream.. -

I got a spare 8600m 512mb ddr2 for the c90s when i swapped it out for the ddr3. pm me if you're interested.

I went over my warranty now as mentioned. I have a program from eVGA. the Precision tool and it puts an icon into the task manager or even a G15 LCD. This way I can keep a close eye on my GPU temps which stay at around 86-89 degrees while playing LOTRO and 70 while idle. All an all not a bad thing. I'm using 177.92 with nVidia PhysX installed and running off the GPU.
-
Is that with or without mod? I'm pretty thats what it's supposed to be without. Most of the time I just see it in the corner of the screen with rivatuner while playing.
-
Hum...I just got owned $40
Last week I did an online RMA request first, as they never answered me I called....I just received an email today, Fedex is coming to my house this afternoon to pickup the notebook.... -
o.0
That's..that just sucks. -
**** Canada post still hasn't delivered it! I went priority and it was garanteed by last tuesday at noon. The positive side is that they have to refund me.
So I'm FINALLY RMAing my C90S
