So the v6j will come out and replace the v6va....

However, the v6j will be around $2300-$2400 and be out of the range of $2000...

Will it replace it totally as in...theyll stop producing the v6va? Because if so...wasnt that a bit TOO fast. I know we're talking computers and technology is constantly changing..but the v6va is only a few months old...

Also can someone clear up one thing..the v6j is the exact same thing with a dual core napa (yonah) proccessor....(yonah is just a codename right?)

    Thanks a lot in advance

Was that a question? haha... yeah, eventually that's what'll happen.

Well they stopped making the V6v and although it's still sold, once it's gone it's gone... but it's still being sold because the V6va is a lot more than the V6v.......

The V6j is just based on the new chipset...... it may be "early" but at some point people will just stop buying the 915 models and want the 945's..... so it's sorta the thing to do.

Correct...... but the V6j won't have the awesome IPS screen (asus says there aren't enough to go around) .... and it'll have an nvidia graphics card instead of the ATI.

The V6va was a limited edition model and only about 300 came in and I think they were really meant to help improve the rep of the V6 as an all out powerhouse with a great screen......... because reviews of that will help the forthcoming V6j and this first Lamborghini model based on it....

    an nvidia card???

The 6600? or will it be the 7600? (or maybe you just cant tell me)

I guess it's kinda dissapointing that the v6va was so limited but who knows maybe when i'm ready to buy ill see one on ebay or at another reseller...

I want to say I remember 7300..... that's just off the top of my head because I can't look it up right now... but there's no doubt it'll be at LEAST as good as the 128mb x700...

Who knows...... no one likes to get stuck with a lot of stock, but anyone who still has them after the V6j comes out will have to discount them because once a new chipset comes out, the market for the old one is very small...... no matter the price.

It will definitely be the next gen nvidia cards...so no, not the 6600 for sure. I'm gonna say probably the 7400 or 7600. The 7300 is pretty weak...

... it's the supermodel of the Asus lineup.... although that's sort of a lie because it's still a very powerful setup.

From Nvidia's site, the V6j will have the Nvidia Go 7400! Supposedly the 7400 is roughly going to be comparable to the x600. Should this be true, I wonder if the V6va would be the better choice.

Yes - 7400 is what I have as well..... I checked out the specs this morning. If the 7400 is equal to an x600.... then I expect far too many people to want V6va's next week.....

From what ive been reading (on various forums...so this may not be true)...the 7400 is roughly equivalent to an x700....so i guess people wont be wanting those v6va's after the v6j comes out...unless they dont care for dual core and want to take advantage of stock clearing sales...

For that price the specs aren't great. One would think they would offer something like 7800go if the model would cost $2400.

but a 7800go would turn such a thin laptop into a stove

Right... there is a limit and that limit is just about where it's at right now...... I would assume the 7400 would be equal to an x700 because I can't see Asus going backwards, but changing from ATI to Nvidia is a big deal and a lot of people love and hate one or the other.... so it depends.... the V6va will have a better screen, and the V6j will have a dual core cpu..... I think there is more to think about there than meets the eye.. and the premium for the new chipset will seperate the two enough that the current models won't need a price drop to continue to sell.
