I barely managed to get one from New Egg.

Long story short, I had this laptop then wasn't sure I needed one so nice...yet after returning and doing research I could find no other gaming laptop with an IPS screen. All worthless TN panels. TN in 2014? Yuck

So... I went back to Microcenter. Gone, I asked why. They said it was old and already discontinued

WHAT? Didn't this come out in may???

    O.O

Hello to all as well...my first post here haha.

Also...anyone know a good 2nd hard drive caddy?

N550jk has ips panel afaik, what is wrong with that?

Also why is ips panel needed for gaming?

Hdd caddys are universal, just pick size that fits your notebook off ebay.

JK is the new 850M model

That would make sense. Asus does limited runs of its N series computers. Likely the successor will use the same screen and frame but with a refreshed 4710mq i7. Nothing too different.

This has to do with forecasting since ASUS wants to be careful with production and allocation as they do not want to end up with excessive stock otherwise they can be hurt from overstocking of goods.
