    Gidday guys.

    As I said in a previous post, I am upgrading my W3J from a T2500 to a T7200.
From the research I did, I was under the impression that they used the same socket, and it was basically just a matter of removing the T2500 and fitting the T7200. Now I have read that one is a 478 pin CPU, and the other is 479 pin, and, I would guess, will not fit. Can anyone clear this up, before it all goes pear-shaped on me? I am running the 210 BIOS, so it should recognise it, if it fits. Help?

    Regards to all

No, they use the same socket. The physical number of pins they have 478, but the socket they use is called Socket 479. The system is often confused with the number of pins, being the same as the socket. I'm not familiar with the BIOS version, but if it is the latest it should recognise the new processor. Check in details of the BIOS on the Asus website.

It should work fine as long as the bios is upgraded.
