    Hello all.

I just purchased a M50SV-B1 from newegg and am eagerly awaiting it's delivery (was supposed to come today, but UPS delayed it until the 7th :( ).

So, in the mean time I wanted to ask a couple questions. First, has anyone successfully setup 64bit vista on it? I see on asus site that they dont list many 64bit drivers for the SV series, but there are plenty for some of the other M50 series. Just was curious if it's a possibility using drivers from the other M50 series if they are compatible.

Also, does the US model come with the TV tuner and the little remote that stores inside the expresscard slot, or is that only european models?

One last thing, I had a hard time choosing between the M50SV-B1 and the M50SA-X1. I decided the Blu-Ray drive was better for me at this time, I was really looking to get that, but the faster processor and extra gig of ram were nice too.

Anyway, the question, if I want to eventually throw a T9300 (2.5GHz) C2D in the SV-B1, will the stock heatsink/fan setup be able to handle the faster processor and additional heat? I am guessing it would since the model is very similar to the X1 anyway, but I wanted to double check first.

Hi! And welcome to nbr :)
the drivers cd has 64 bit drivers so u shouldn't worry about that. You can also upgrade your CPU without any problems BUT that will void your warranty. Adding ram is ok and won't void any warranties. There is also no tv tuner on US models.

Awesome, all the questions answered in one shot :D.

Wonder why they dont put the 64bit drivers up on the site for that model?

I am going to keep the 2.1GHz CPU in there for a good while, but perhaps in a years time I might upgrade it when the stock warranty is up. I do like that you can get to all the major components in one area. With my old HP ze2000 series I had to take apart the entire laptop to get to the CPU and upgrade it. The asus looks much simpler :D.

Because 64bit OS is officially unsupported.
