Here are some questions I have compiled that I would really love to know:
-The Asus W90vp-A1, the version with the Q9000, is the CPU pre-overclocked (with Turbo Gear)? And if so by how much?
-What are the max OC cores CC allows in the Mobility 4870? And does Turbo Gear OC the GPU?
-What are the real differences between the Mobility 4870 and 4850?
-In the Asus W90vp; Is the Mobility 4870x2 truly x2? Or is it two 4870s in CrossfireX?
-Can one 4870 be shut down to conserve energy?
-T9600 vs Q9000? which is better?

Moving this to the main ASUS forum, this is the Reviews & Owner's Lounges section.
Additionally you could have probably asked this question on the W90 Owner's Lounge instead of in a new thread. I'm sure it would have gotten more attention like that. Now that you posted the thread, it's best if you post a link to it, probably. -
I asked Xtopic PC about this as well, they don't have any unit of it yet, so no one knows; however, currently on Asus G71 with Q9000, OC is disabled, I think in short run same would apply to A1.
Interestingly the cause of the delay in shippment of Asus W90-A1 is according to them, heat issue with the CPU, which Asus is sorting out, guess having a 45W CPU is't easy, and they might end up shipping with slightly tweaked cooling or just no OC at all...
However, as X38 chipset is used, you can probably do FSB overclock via SetFSB, given QX9300 has been oc'ed to nearly 4 Ghz in W90, Q9000 ought not have anyproblem OCing on this system.
-50mhz on the core via over drive I think, your better off asking the Owners in the owner thread.
Currently we are looking at mobility 4850 GDDR3 v 4870 GDDR3, the difference is pretty much purely clock, same hardware. When 4870 with GDDR5 comes along, the difference ought to be more apparent...
Does this matter? there seem to be 2 PCB, each a 4870.
I think not. But maybe could happen
In short run, T9600 is better for almost every thing apart form media encoding, as it has higher L2 per core, ad can be OC'ed over 3Ghz. This depends as well, as if you can get the Quad up to 2.4/2.5 via OC, then its probably better choice.
You didn't say what you normally do on it, it does depend upon usage; Your milage may vary as they say.

According to Justin at xoticpc HERE, TurboGear overclocks it 15% to 2.29GHz with a 1221MHz bus.
...and best of all, that's a manufacturer warranteed overclock.

In the BIOS you do have the ability to disable one display card. This may be convenient if you're looking to save battery life and not playing games. -
There is no such thing as any X2 for mobile ATI GPUs, they're all 2 physical GPUs in CrossFire.

I would imagine they are still working on getting a new version of turbo gear. last i checked turbo gear was not functioning with their quad cores.
Q9000 is better! Wins it in floating point calculations -
xoticpc has reported a 15% overclock on the q9000 using TurboGear.
