so, does the g1s-b1 comes with a 200Gb 7200rpm HDD, anyone knows the brand of it? Is it good? I´m planning on buying a g1s, but still can´t decide betwen the a1 or the b1...
The a1 on excaliberpc is abut 1600$, and the b1 1900$, both of them comes with free upgrade to 3gb RAM.
i think it is better to get the b1, since it has the 7200rpm drive and the intel turbo memory, and the processor is .2Ghz faster! am i right? if i get the a1, i will for sure buy an 7200rpm HDD and the intel turbo memory...

and just one more thing, does the b1 also have that processor issue?

    what do you guys think?

The hard drive that comes with Asus G1S-B1 is a Hitachi Travelstar 7K200 series. Based on the real-world benchmarks, this is definitely one of the fastest notebook hard drive in its class for a portable system, the only downside is that it does not come cheaply. (MSRP:$249)

that´s good to hear, the hitachi travelstar is the HDD that i was going to buy if i buy the a1! one more question to you, excaliber, with the free memory upgrade, do you send the factory 1gb memory with the laptop?

You can get the Hitachi 200gb 7200rpm for $210 at newegg.
As for the free memory upgrade, most resellers don't send you the original factory memory after you purchased an upgrade.

The answer to your question is negative, we take the factory 1GB out and install a 2GB certified module instead. (1GB+2GB)

The FREE SteelSeries Steel Sound 5H V2 Gaming headset will be included with all G1S-B1 purchases. Thanks!
