I am leaning towards getting a Asus s96j system built for me by some company.....now questions

1)What is the difference between 2 year VBI warranty compared to say powernotebooks 3 year warranty?

2)What are good places to get a notebook fully setup for me and preferabbly quickly? Ive been using avadirect(10-15 days) and powernotebook only and avadirect seems to be cheaper for me, but Im not understanding the VBI warranty..

3)Also for the LCD, my current dell 700m has a broken LCD from a laptop drop and inverts the gamma ramp unless pressure is applied to the screen...how would the VBI and the regular warranty work? Also if the LCD goes bust, is there a way to replace it?

    1. go with the powernotebooks warranty. if you get the vbi, your notebook gets serviced from intel, which means dealing with customer support/rma from a large company = lots of red tape. powernotebooks is a great company and will probably give you better service and turn around time.

    2. the vbi program has been discontinued so most companies have dropped the s96j and only sell the z96j.

    3. neither warranty covers accidental warranty, so the damage that is caused by a drop isn't covered. if you lcd goes bust, you should still be able to get it warrantied, as long as it is from hardware malfunction, not accidental damage. also, i don't think either warranty covers problems like dead/stuck pixels or light leakage.

:( honestly i want the s96j over the z96j because of the screen resolution, I prefer to have the 1200x800ish natural screen resolution, and ummm i don't use blue tooth for anything either....so if anyone knows dealers?

and by the vbi program has been discontinued...do you mean if I buy it from avadirect which has 2 years of it...does that mean that its a voided warranty?
