I have noticed on the ASUS homepage that they have a new N laptop . It seems that is isn't just a twin of the GL552VW since the N552VW is thinner and has a long single hinge.

    This poses some questions:
    - Will the build quality be better as compared to the GL552VW?
    - Are the IPS UHD and the IPS FHD matte screens and if yes does the UHD really cover 100% sRGB as promissed?

Just got a message from ASUS:

    Dear Customer,

First of all we would like to thank you for your interest in ASUS and our products!

The release of the N552VW is expected to start at Dezember.

We hope we were able to help you along.

    Yours faithfully

    ASUS Team

Can't wait until someone gets his hand on this.

Has anybody heard anything about this system? I'm interested in the 4k variant but can't seem to find it anywhere...

    Hey King Midas,

Thanks for the heads up! The N552VX is the lower spec model. I've found a few offers for it as well. However I really am interested in the VW - particularly the 4k screen and GTX 960... I mean dialogue with Asus Germany regarding this so let's see what they say...

I feel your pain with waiting for Skylake notebooks.
I actually posted to give you another source to ask about availability for the N552VW.

Cool, thanks! Let me know if you hear anything. I spotted this recently while searching: http://m.rueducommerce.fr/Product/?id=N552VW-FI035T&addProduct=1

It's *exactly* the model I'm after but I've never heard of website. Pricing seems to be about right tho and it's apparently "en stock"... I just find it strange that they are the only ones who have it. What do you make of it?

    It's a very good spec.
But I'm not in the running for a N552VW anymore. I'm pulling the trigger on a Skylake Zenbook Pro if Asus doesn't FU with the lcd panel again (NX501).

Yes the NX501 is a sweet rig...even sweeter with skylake of course. I'll definitely have a look at is well...

Yes you should. Because I saw €1649.-- for the N552VW. The UX501VW won't be much more expensive. A few hundred maybe.

    I posted about the Skylake NX501VW here : http://forum.notebookreview.com/thr...predictions-speculation.778633/#post-10175587

and here (in stock for $1499.--; although I find it hard to believe because it was already in stock when CES 2016 was still going.) : http://forum.notebookreview.com/thr...tions-speculation.778633/page-2#post-10176969

BTW, you got to love the VW suffix.
