Sometimes when I reboot sound comes out of the internal notebook speakers instead of my monitor through my HDMI cable. Why is this?

I'll reboot and sound will still come through the notebook. I have uninstalled sound and video drivers and installed the newest Nvidia ones and it works for awhile. Then I restart and it's messed up again sometimes.

Do you have your audio settings set to digital out?

Sounds like a faulty connection on either side of the connection or short in the cable.

Try a different cable and if that doesn't work, try another HDMI input. Last option is to try another TV. If that doesn't work, you likely know where the problem lies and have a few emails to send :p
