A lot of the new Asus models have extra interna; mini PCI-Express slots for TurboMemory cards, but Eddie's tests of the new Ensembles have showed no performance improvements.
What is up?
Well, Sony is saying that MS did not get the OS-side support for TurboMemory working for the initial Release to Manufacturing of Vista:
Article is here.
This makes sense given the Anandtech results as well, and the fact that *no one* (other then Intel) has been able to demonstrate a working, performance-improving TurboMemory system yet.
Just an FYI for those potential Asus owners wondering about this feature and if it is worth having the installation done on Ensembles. With regular RAM prices the way they are right now, I think the money would be better invested there.

Sony and HP already announced they are dropping it and wont support it

That's can't be the only problem. Turbo Memory is supposed to work right at boot up - I didn't think that required Vista support?

TurboMemory requires OS support. The OS has to decide what files (as a HD cache) or processes (as added memory) to store there.
