does anyone know exactly what the specs are? i heard some rumours on a tech blog that the processor they planned to use was actually slower than the Celeron m.![]()
-
Apparently they're going to release it before Atom comes out, so it'll be a Pentium M ULV in most cases. Then a few months later, with Intel's Atom, which, hopefully will be faster, more effective and cheaper
-
aha. i'm probably going to get an Eee sometime this summer, say, maybe june. which would you recommend, first or second gen?
-
I'll be waiting until the Atom version is released or the end of July whichever comes first. It'd be nice to see how much the HP 2133 has improved, and if there are any other worthy competitors out by then too. -
the atom version should be out in may, from what i've heard.
-
The Intel Atom Processor is slated for release in May.
Recommending one over the other makes no sense. Once the new one is released the old one will not be manufactured. The price tag will not go up by much. The configurations wil be the same but, better performance newer technology.
I say buy what's new when you need it. The performance will be significantly better with the Atom but the price will be slightly higher. It will break the dreaded 400 dollar mark. -
i found a deal on amazon where they said the list price had been almost 600 USD. they slashed it to 400. it was the 701 4G, non-surf.
-
Go to NCIX, ExcaliburPC or any other online retailer. Much cheaper or close to the actual retail price. The 4G non-surf is supposed to be 399 USD. -
annoying big-seller sites [growling noises]. have you checked out eeeuser.com? its pretty cool, but they could put some more info on it...
oh, and the price was really 399 i just rounded
